Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Prophet Mohammad.

When the Soviet forces left Afghanistan after ten years of a bloody war, it marked one of the most historic events in human history. The cruel Russian empire was pushed to the brink of destruction by the sacrifices of our Muslim nation. The heroic struggle of our people provided hope to nations under foreign occupation. I felt the need to collect and publish my thoughts and notes about the strife of our people to become a window of hope for oppressed people worldwide.

Undertaking the immense task of writing about the struggle of our great people was beyond my ability. This work requires a long time and collective efforts by individuals with scholarly and literary expertise. I felt the responsibility to document the bloody history of our Islamic revolution so that it is not forgotten. It would be a great honor for me if this publication motivates scholars and learned individuals to write the full history of our blessed Jihad.
